On February 23, 2017, Portsmouth High School students from Mr. Nate Kline’s Personal Finance/Business Class participated in the 2017 Glockner Dare to Dream Pitch Competition. During the school competition, teams of students “pitched” new business concepts and ideas to judges from our local business community. The visiting judges evaluated the teams based on their presentation skills and their creative idea, and selected two teams to represent Portsmouth High School at the Glockner Dare to Dream Tristate Pitch Competition. An additional team was chosen as an alternate to the competition. The advancing teams will compete in the Tristate Competition at Ohio University Southern Campus on March 28, 2017 at 6:00pm in an effort to win a variety of cash prizes. Good luck, Trojans!

Students at PJHS had the opportunity to learn more about black history through a unique program of speakers and activities. Students rotated through 15 different stations to learn more about Civil Rights, African-Americans in the military, folklore and storytelling and Pan-African music (drums)--just to name a few. The event was organized by Miss Stephanie Warren and Miss Jessica Smith. A very special THANK YOU to all the speakers and teachers who helped with the day! Click here for more photos!
